ASDHARTS – Convergence for Tourism

The Association of South Davao, Hotels, Accommodations, Restaurants and Tourism Stakeholders (ASDHARTS) is an organization which holds high the banner of Davao del Sur tourism.  ASDHARTS is a convergence structure of enterprises, individuals and organizations devoted to tourism and its allied sectors. Its primary objective is to raise the quality of its members to international standards. The association strives to accomplish its agenda through the adoption of best practices from across the globe. It envisions itself to be at the vanguard of hospitality, fun and leisure for the province. ASDHARTS is a project of Department of Tourism (DOT) – Region XI’s Robreto P. Alabado III.

ASDHARTS birth comes from the government’s participatory approach towards development. The DOT, realizing the need for private sector participation to achieve its aims, forms convergence partnerships such as ASDHA to assist in development. From a DOT training forum in Avenue One Hotel last May 2016, the participants decided to create ASDHARTS. Setting aside competitive instincts is not easy of course, but members set aside competition to create mutually beneficial partnerships. These partnerships include sharing spill-overs from excess guests, marketing and publicity, and membership discounts. The DOT itself supports the members through personnel training and quality control.

Currently, ASDHARTS is doing its share in promoting tourism activities across the province. Hitting on its first few months, the coalition is proud to organize the 1st Malalag Summer Escapade at Eagle’s Eye Crib.  Members were also present and sponsored the 5th Tabanog Festival in Padada. The organization is excited in taking on the DOT’s challenge to create more activities to attract domestic, local and foreign visitors to make Davao del Sur a more fun place to be.

Organizations, individuals and enterprises within tourism and its allied sectors are welcome to ASDHARTS. For a monthly membership fee of Php 100.00, organizations can take part in the fellowship meetings, special events, trainings and other bonuses from members and the DOT. The membership advantages will grow clearer as more and more plans are implemented for the following year. Those who wish to participate can contact the group’s current President,Teodorico Dofiles II of Avenue One Hotel.
